The Children's Mission of St. Paul and St. James
Mustardseed Club
Mustardseed Club is a program for children of families who come to the parish's food pantry, Loaves & Fishes, held every Saturday in the church basement. The number of children varies widely, but averages at least a dozen per week.
Mustardseed Club provides a "children's corner," with books paper, crayons, and sometimes toys or games, where children can relax with a friendly adult while their parents wait in line for groceries. Children are invited to choose a free book to take home.
The program is staffed by a rotation of staff members and volunteers. We welcome volunteers -- especially those with Spanish-language skills -- and donations of books.
